Faith Opposite of FearFear, opposite of faith, is a tool of the adversary to open a doorway to allow negativity to influence or control us.
And it came to pass that Moses began to fear exceedingly; and he began to fear, he saw the bitterness of hell. Nevertheless, calling upon God, he received strength, and he commanded, saying: Depart from me, Satan, for this one God only will I worship, which is the God of glory. Moses 1:20 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. Job 3:25
Faith Opposite of Fear
Faith opposite of fear, a required tool to open the door to become God’s faithful servant. This Book of Mormon scripture gives us more insight into faith:
…men began to exercise faith in Christ; and thus by faith, they did lay hold upon every good thing and thus it was until the coming of Christ. And after that he came men also were saved by faith in his name; and by faith, they become the sons of God. And as surely as Christ liveth he spake these words unto our fathers, saying: Whatsoever thing ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, behold, it shall be done unto to you…. Moroni 7:25-26
Fear
Fear, opposite of faith, is the tool Satan and his team use to control us. When we are fearful and faithless, we conjure up negative happenings that work against us. Some believe we create our own reality by our positive or negative thoughts which is a study of its own.
Faith shields us from the adversary
Faith opposite of fear shields us from the adversary that can heal us and keep us safe from harm, accident, negativity, and evil. In order to heal, faith is essential. With faith, we can attract every good thing gradually replacing our burdens, sins, and weaknesses until we become full of faith and light.
Doubt and Faith cannot exist at the same time:
….For whatever may be their belief or their opinion, it is a matter of doubt and uncertainty in their mind; and where doubt and uncertainty are, there faith is not, nor can it be. For doubt and faith do not exist in the same person at the same time. So persons whose minds are under doubts and fears cannot have unshaken confidence, and where unshaken confidence is not, there faith is weak. And where faith is weak, the person will not be able to contend against all the opposition, tribulations, and afflictions which they will have to encounter in order to be heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ Jesus. But they will grow weary in their minds, and the adversary will have power over them and destroy them….Lecture on Faith 6
I enjoyed Darren’s perspective of Fears versus Faith in his creative video. Remember faith, the opposite of fear is only present if there is no fear. If fear is present, there is no faith. If faith is present, there is no fear.
