I was raised in a religious culture that did not teach about or share any information about spirit guides and angel guardians. In fact, when I talk about my spirit guides or angel guardians with my siblings and three of my children, I can tell it makes them feel uncomfortable. It sounds weird and even crazy to them. I would love to share more about my spirit guides, especially with my family, because my dad, who passed away 6.5 years ago is my lead angel guardian who oversees the guidance I request (we generally have a number of spirit guides and angel guardians, so one is assigned as the leader)
Spirit guides and angel guardians – My dad
I learned about spirit guides and angel guardians after the death of my father. Six or so months after his death, I had a dream about my dad. I could tell he was in turmoil and distress. I felt he was making difficult adjustments moving from earth to wherever his spirit resided. Then some months later, peace came over me, and I felt my dad was with me. I wasn’t certain he was my angel guardian until a couple of years later when I received certain confirmation through a conversation I was blessed to have with him.
The World Unseen by Anthony Borgia
After Reverend Benson died, he was given permission to return to the earth to tell his colleague, Anthony Borgia, the real truth about the spirit world. Borgia wrote a book, The World Unseen, to share the information Reverend Benson told him, including details about spirit guides.
Spirit guides are drawn from every nationality that exists upon the earth plane. A great many of them are drawn from eastern countries and from the North American Indians because of the psychic gifts they possess.
A principal guide is chosen for each individual on the earth plane in conformity with a fixed plan. It is most important the guides understand and are in sympathy with their charges’ failings. Many of them had the same failings when they were incarnate. pg 181, The World Unseen, Anthony Borgia
Ask! Spirit Guides are not allowed to help unless we ask
Since learning about spirit guides and angel guardians, I ask my dad to help me often. He eagerly responds. In fact, spirit guides love to be asked to help out because they get bored waiting around for something to do (they are not allowed to help us unless we ask). They love getting involved and making things easier for us.
I depend on my “writing” guardian angels to help inspire me as I write blog entries. I have learned to recognize when they are sending me ideas or words I am having a hard time formulating. Spirit guides are wonderful, and our lives would run smoother if we would remember to ask them for guidance more often. They love to be told, “Thank you” so I try to remember to express the powerful words of gratitude to them often.
Spirit Animals
In addition to being assigned angel guardians, I believe each of us has at least one spirit animal with us. Through meditation, I learned my spirit animal is a lioness. The lioness represents feminine power, family ties, strength, courage, and protection.
Just recently, a dragon joined my spirit lioness to give me extra strength, protection, and good luck. A dragon can be a sign of evil too, but my dragon smiles and is full of love and light that protects me from the darkness. I haven’t named them, but as I write this, I realized I have a desire to give them names. I choose to name my dragon, Larissa (means cheerful in Latin and protection in American), and my lioness, Maitea (means love).
