In the scripture group my husband and I attend, we pray for one another. It has become apparent that love or light between us has grown as we practice praying for others especially those in our immediate group. Why is it important to become closer to one another by praying for each other?
How to Maintain Healing – The Witness of Many Healings
I have witnessed many healings from dark entitles. However, because of the darkened state of the world, more entities replace the ones that left when healing occurred.
I asked God why people (including those I love) cannot maintain healing. I learned it is because there is a fog of lies surrounding the earth. Many hearts are full of fear-based emotions. Until you and I do a better job of caring for and loving others, we will continue to battle the scourge of fear, lies, and the negative entities that accompany this type of energy. You can’t change me and I can’t change you but we can change ourselves.
If you want inner light and a bubble of light to continually surround and protect you, it is essential to learn to love others. I have come to understand this can be accomplished by praying for or sending positive thoughts to each other.
You can replace fear with love by praying for or thinking good thoughts about others. It is impossible to maintain healing if you don’t practice loving others rather than focusing on yourself even if your self-desires are good. This takes ongoing work!
Prayer lists and Praying for others
Our scripture group has a prayer list so I hadn’t considered making my own prayer list. However, recently after I watched Mr. Rogers praying for others by employing a prayer list he made in the movie “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”, I had the thought I could bless more people if I began my own prayer list too. I acted on this thought and now pray daily for those on my prayer list. So far nothing earth-shattering has occurred but I love the warmth I feel when praying for those on my list. Btw, I highly recommend the movie, “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood“. Tom Hanks did an excellent job depicting Mr. Rogers and the movie is full of uplifting content.
I was accustomed to and believed blessings were received by adding names to a temple prayer roll when I attended a Mormon temple. After I left the Mormon church, I am no longer allowed to attend their temples; however, until recently, I still added names to the temple prayer roll by calling a “temple prayer roll” phone number but this number is no longer available.
Not long ago, I had the thought to Google “prayer requests” and discovered World Network of Prayer Requests so I started adding names to this list on a weekly basis.
World Network of Prayer has never solicited me which I appreciate. “World Network” does require names to be updated on a weekly basis. Since effort has to be made to update names every week, it ensures “a name” will not be forgotten until sought after blessings are received.
Following are other prayer lists others have shared with me. If you would like to share a favorite prayer list in the notes below, please do, and thank you.

Love generated from praying for others hastens healing
I believe in the power of prayer and I am being reminded there is increased power of love/light generated as we pray for each other and when we pray together in a group. Since love is the power that heals, when love is increased, healing can be hastened.
Different answers and receive more than asked for
Have you ever prayed for someone but received a different answer than what you prayed for? When my daughter, Ashirya, discovered the Mormon church was not telling the truth about their history along with other untruths, I sincerely believed Ashirya had been led astray by propaganda. I prayed diligently she would return to Mormonism. To my surprise, instead of my daughter returning to Mormonism, I was led to knowledge which ultimately resulted in me leaving Mormonism too. Although it has been difficult losing former close family and friend relationships, I am grateful cataracts coating my eyes were lifted enabling me to recognize truth.
Sometimes we also receive more than we prayed for. This reminds me of a scripture story about a man referred to as the brother of Jared. He was praying how to get light in the boats God commanded him to build:
And cried again unto the Lord, saying, O Lord, thou hast said that we must be encompassed about by the floods. Now behold, O Lord, and do not be angry with thy servant because of his weakness before thee…O Lord, look upon me in pity, and turn away thine anger from this thy people, and suffer not that they shall go forth across this raging deep in darkness, but behold these things which I have molten out of the rock. And I know, O Lord, that thou hast all power and can do whatsoever thou wilt for the benefit of man. Therefore, touch these stones, O Lord, with thy finger, and prepare them that they may shine forth in darkness, and they shall shine forth unto us in the vessels which we have prepared, that we may have light while we shall cross the sea. Eth. 1:11
The Lord stretched forth his hand and touched the stones one by one with his finger. And the veil was taken from off the eyes of the brother of Jared, and he saw the finger of the Lord; and it was as the finger of a man, like unto flesh and blood.
Eth. 1:12
God not only solved the brother of Jared’s lighting problem, even greater, He gave him increased knowledge about the nature of God.
Conclusion
Because love is the power that heals, increasing love is an important component for desired healing to occur and to be maintained. And if we want to maintain healing, we must get involved in helping others because helping and praying for others gets rid of fear which is darkness by replacing it with love which is light.
I wrote this blog post as a reminder that the power of love is heightened when we sincerely pray for each other. If you desire, as you pray for others, I invite you to also pray for the healing of my son who lives with severe Bipolar II disorder. Thank you.
