More Veggie Burger Nutritional Facts

In this blog, I will be sharing more veggie burger nutritional facts and ingredients.

I collected more information on veggie burgers than I realized so I decided to split the information I gathered into two blogs.  In this blog, I will be sharing more veggie burger nutritional facts and ingredients.

More veggie burger nutritional facts – Black Bean Burgers Recommendation

I buy Organic Black Bean Burgers produced by Don Lee Farms from Costco Wholesale.  These vegetarian burgers are made with plant-based protein.  The calorie and fat nutrition facts for one pattie are in the range of what I consider a good choice:

  • Calories 190
  • Fat Calories 50
  • Total Fat 6 g.
  • Saturated Fat 1 g.
  • Trans Fat 0 g.

Ingredients of Don Lee Farms Black Bean Burgers

Organic Black Beans, organic vegetables (organic sweet corn, organic onions, organic tomatoes), organic brown rice (cooked in water), organic brown rice flour, organic soybean oil, organic pea protein isolate, contains 2% or less: organic chili and chipotle peppers, organic spices, organic sugar, organic garlic, sea salt.

Black Bean Burgers, A Favorite

My son who checks ingredients and nutrition facts of pretty well everything he eats or drinks chooses Don Lee Farms Black Bean Burgers as his favorite vegetarian burger. I too approve of these vegetarian burgers, especially with a little mustard.

Gardenburger, the Original Veggie Burger

The calorie and fat nutrition facts for one Gardenburger veggie pattie are also within the range of what I consider a good choice:

  • Calories- 110
  • Fat Calories- 30
  • Total Fat- 3 g.
  • Saturated Fat- 1.5 g.
  • Trans Fat- 0 g.

Ingredients of Gardenburger

Cooked Brown Rice (Long Grain Brown Rice, Water), Button Mushrooms, Rolled Oats, Mozzarella Cheese (Pasteurized Part-Skim Milk, Cultures, Salt, Enzymes), Onions, Water, Hydrated Wheat Bulgur (Water, Bulgur Wheat), Crimini Mushrooms, Spices, Portabella Mushrooms, Cheddar Cheese (Pasteurized Milk, Salt, Enzymes, Cultures, Annatto Color), contains two percent or less of Salt, Natural Flavors, Modified Vegetable Gum, Garlic Powder, Yeast Extract, Citric Acid, Whey, Malted Barley, Annatto Extract, Malted Barley Flour, Onion Powder, Mushroom Powder, Guar Gum, Annatto Extract (color), Turmeric Extract (color), Soy Lecithin.

I don’t have access to this brand of veggie burger locally, and I don’t order frozen goods over the internet so I don’t purchase these regularly.  However, if I had access to the Gardenburger, I would purchase them more frequently.

Why I Do NOT Recommend Boca Burgers

I have a personal policy.  If I don’t recognize the names of ingredients or can’t pronounce ingredient names, I don’t put them in my body.  Personally, I am not comfortable with the ingredient list of Boca burgers so I don’t buy them or recommend them.  I have eaten these before I checked their ingredients, and I noticed my body did not respond well to them.

Boca Burger Ingredients:

INGREDIENTS: WATER, SOY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, WHEAT GLUTEN, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF METHYLCELLULOSE, SALT, CARAMEL COLOR, DRIED ONIONS, YEAST EXTRACT, SESAME OIL, HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR (NON-MEAT), DISODIUM GUANYLATE, DISODIUM INOSINATE.

There are many more veggie burger nutritional facts to share, but I will stop here to allow us to practice the habit of reading nutrition labels.
