I have concluded in order to be completely healed of a mental disorder, it is only going to happen through faith in a higher power. After studying about the brain, I have come to understand it is a very complex organ. Although advances have been made to improve treatments for mental disorders, men still know so little about the brain. My research about the brain indicates, as far as I can tell, healing mental disorders through faith is the only avenue to be completely cured of a mental disorder.
Healing mental disorders through faith
Healing mental disorders through faith require belief in a higher power; thus, I want to learn all I can about faith in this higher power. Obviously, a belief that God or a higher power exists must be present in order to exercise faith in God.
What is faith?
I studied the question “What is faith?” It is hope in what we have not seen as recorded in the scriptures.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true. Alma 32:21
Faith and Fear cannot exist in the same place at the same time
Faith is the opposite of fear. Fear is the adversary’s tool while faith is God’s tool. Fear is to experience darkness while faith is to experience light. Faith and fear cannot exist in the same place at the same time.
Where doubt and uncertainty are, there faith is not, nor can it be. For doubt and faith do not exist in the same person at the same time. pg 96, Lecture on Faith 6
In order to exercise correct faith, we must have a correct idea about God’s perfections which belong to the attributes of His nature.
- God is merciful and gracious
- God changes not
- God is a God of truth
- God is no respecter of persons
- God is love
- God is all-knowing
- God is faith or power
- God is perfectly just
- God judges perfectly
Praying as though a blessing has been granted
I believe praying in the past tense as though a blessing or miracle has already been granted is exercising faith.
God, thank you for healing me. I believe in you. I do not doubt. I accept your healing of my brain. By Jesus’ stripes, I have been healed. I thank you and praise you. Amen.
Faith is visualizing what you desire
Joe Dispenza teaches that visualizing what you desire with a clear intention and elevated emotion is belief or faith that your desire will be fulfilled.
Joe Dispenza experienced healing six compressed and fractured vertebrae through meditation visualization after being hit by a vehicle while biking. He could have possibly been in a wheelchair the rest of his life if he would have chosen Harrington rod back surgery over the faith to do what his inner-being told him to do.
Continually searching for truth
Continually searching for truth is also a display of faith. I am always assessing if new information I have received is truth or rubbish.
Growing number of testimonies
Healing mental disorders through faith is non-traditional western thinking, but the testimonies of those who have experienced healing through exercising faith in a higher power are growing. I hope to add my testimony to this growing number.
