On February 23, 2019, I awoke at 3 a.m. I couldn’t go back to sleep but was too groggy to get up or read. I finally fell into a slumber when I received a dream message from God.
Scene 1 – Children, Scene 2- Small brown dog, and Scene 3 – Large brown bull with horns
I first saw children joyfully playing in a park. The children disappeared, and a small brown dog appeared on the scene curiously sniffing pieces of clothing and investigating the surrounding area. The brown dog then faded away, and a large brown bull with horns appeared.
I awoke. I knew I was receiving a dream message from God. I grabbed my laptop and looked up the meaning of a dog and a bull in a dream. I read some material about both animals, but I wasn’t successful in figuring out what God was trying to tell me.
Prayed about it
I began to pray about it. I told God I could feel He was trying to send me a message, but I didn’t understand it. I asked him to enlighten my mind so I could understand the meaning of this dream.
Fell back to sleep
I climbed back into bed feeling satisfied that I had both searched and prayed about this dream message from God. I slept for a few more hours. When I awoke, I remembered I saw two more dream scenes, and I was also granted the interpretation of this strange dream.
Scene 4 – Woman doing her makeup
I saw a woman doing her makeup. FYI, I am learning how to do makeup which I know is odd at age 59. My dad was strict and only approved of minimal makeup, and my mom didn’t seem to mind only wearing lipstick and base makeup on special occasions. Anyway, this is the main reason why I didn’t learn how to apply makeup when I was younger. Surprisingly, I am enjoying this new creative outlet of “makeup art” which is not characteristic of the “old me”. I am enjoying discovering the “new me”, however, on the other hand, I have felt some guilt about experiencing joy as I do my makeup.
Scene 5 – Darkness

Dream Message from God – Interpretation
This is the dream message I received from God:
- Joyfully playing children disappear– Your children are all grown.
- Little brown dog curiously searching her surroundings– You have developed dog-like traits by looking for truth everywhere and investigating the truths you have discovered to understand them fully.
- Big brown bull with horns- Gain bull-like attributes to be bold, forthright, resilient, tenacious, and strong.
- Lady doing her makeup – Enjoy doing makeup! God wants me to feel joy without guilt, and He is happy I am finding joy in creating different makeup looks. Pretty awesome and glad that God approves of makeup!
- Dark night– A time of darkness will soon begin which I am confident is related to some subject matter I have been studying in my scripture group which I will briefly explain.

I believe the dark night I saw in my dream is related to the following scripture verses.
Yea,
wo be unto the Gentiles except they repent; for it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Father, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots;And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strongholds;
And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy land, and thou shalt have no more soothsayers;
Thy graven images I will also cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee, and thou shalt no more worship the works of thy hands;
And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee; so will I destroy thy cities.
And it shall come to pass that all lyings, and deceivings, and envyings, and strifes, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, shall be done away.
3 Nephi 21:14-19
As stated, these scripture verses address the Gentiles who I believe are predominately white Americans of European descent. I believe these words of warning are for the Gentiles who follow men instead of God.
Conclusion
It is beautiful to understand on a deeper level God’s desire for each of us to feel joy. The dream message that God approves of makeup is also a message
The upcoming time of darkness is an opportunity to develop bull-like attributes. It is a choice to follow men or to courageously follow God developing bull-like strength and tenacity. It is not a time to fear but to be
